THE IMPORTANT ROLE OF ART IN IMPROVING YOUR WELL-BEING

Jayson Willis by Jayson Willis

Creating art is like giving something precious to the world. What we’re really after as human beings. When we look to art for guidance in making sense of our lives and the world around us, we get a deeper appreciation for both.

Understanding our feelings, growing in self-awareness, and being receptive to new information and experiences are all made possible by this cultural norm. As a result, the possibilities presented by art continue to expand our horizons and inspire hope.

When we engage in creative expression, we are able to communicate with our inner selves.

The power of art to change us is undeniable. When we engage with works of art, we are, in effect, engaging with our own selves. Creating and appreciating art helps us learn about ourselves and the things that are important to us by encouraging introspection and reflection.

It serves as a bridge between the inner world of our heads and the outer world of our hearts, minds, and senses.

When we find anything in a work that speaks to us, it might generate a surge of feelings because it gives us access to new information, helps us better understand our own feelings, and sheds light on questions we didn’t know we had.

But as human beings, we need to constantly be exposed to the works of others. All kinds of things we’ve never seen or heard of before can be shown to us through the arts.

These moments provide opportunities for introspection since we, as individuals, determine the content of our perceptions and emotions in response to a piece of art.

Making decisions based on our emotions and our convictions helps us define who we are and what we care about. If we know this, we can focus on what we’re here to do, which improves our mental and physical health.

To be more specific, art makes us more appreciative and thankful for the things we already have in our lives.

We experience greater contentment in life when we can adopt an attitude of gratitude and appreciation, when we can shift our attention from the negative to the positive aspects of our existence.

The ability to sit back, reflect on the world around us, analyse our own life, and contemplate these things is a gift we offer ourselves when we allow ourselves to engage with art.

That’s why it’s so crucial, in my opinion, to give yourself regular chances to engage with art. This could be accomplished by the experience of a great work of art, such as a studio or museum visit, a live performance, a movie, or a well-written book.

Experiencing ART IMPROVES OUR QUALITY OF LIFE BY INCREASING OUR CREATIVITY, SATISFACTION, AND JOY

Have you ever felt a deep connection to a piece of art? How about the time you stood in awe before a masterpiece painting? And I most certainly have.

Have you ever encountered art that left you feeling something that words just couldn’t describe? Connecting with the artist’s tale, voice, and experience on a deeper level than rational thought is what this experience is all about. To put it another way, you are being invited into the artist’s universe.

Art enriches our lives and broadens our perspectives. Art appreciation has been shown via scientific research to have positive effects on both our quality of life and our mood.

When we express ourselves creatively, we boost our mood, sharpen our capacity to solve problems, and expand our horizons. Dr. Shelley Carson claims that the arts’ power to lift our spirits opens our minds to more possibilities when it comes to problem-solving.

Neurobiologist Professor Semir Zeki from the University College London claimed that looking at great art causes the same kind of brain activity as falling in love.

Dopamine, a chemical that helps regulate the brain’s reward and pleasure centres, is raised by engaging in creative pursuits. That’s why I think it’s crucial to make a purchase and decorate your home with works of art.

If you buy a piece of art, you’re not just decorating your walls with a pretty picture. Nothing is ever made in a vacuum, thus it stands to reason that nearly every piece of art has some sort of backstory or hidden meaning. Creating art is integral to the existence of any creative person.

You’re getting a glimpse into the lives of other people, the inspiration behind an artist’s work, and the trials and tribulations that went into making it. An artist creates art because they are moved to do so by some tale, some experience, some meaning, or some aim.

That picture or drawing served some purpose, or represented some notion. Decorating your home with works of art is a great way to decorate with your thoughts.

And you’re taking all of those memories and lessons into your sacred spaces.
