Art Appreciation is the undertaking in which people with an interest in looking at art can begin to process, understand and eventually express in writing or articulation balanced, meaningful thoughts or engage in insightful conversations with people in art groups or among friends. It is a process of learning that can greatly increase one’s understanding and love of engaging with art and it can easily be taught providing many benefits.
Looking at the art we love is a real joy and a pleasure. It makes us feel good; we feel happy and our minds are stimulated bringing contentment and calm. Understanding paintings brings greater joy and pleasure, feelings of self-satisfaction, enlightenment and achievement. It builds our well-being and self-worth.
Art can bring clarity to our thoughts and ideas, it can expose us to new ideas and ways of thinking. It can shine a light on society and the vagaries of human nature. It can lift our spirits and emotions and guide us through difficult and emotional circumstances and help us cope with life.
ART is a journey well worth taking.
