All About The Woman with a Pearl
Every time he painted a portrait of a member of his family, he made a duplicate; one painting was kept for the family, and the other was given to the subject. After the artist’s death and throughout his career, there were several forgeries of his landscapes, as he frequently created copies of these pieces.
