A Look Into Rare Flower 2

This piece of artwork by her is called Rare Flower 2, 30X40, it’s an oil painting on canvas. This is one of my favourite artworks done by her because it the figure is alluring. This painting looks emotional, as the ballerina looks tired having her hand to her head.

Yet it is passionate strong and vibrant. The messy brush work helps to create movement, especially in the dress, as the subject is dancing but also looking dreamlike. I like how the background is plain, as to not take away any attention from the subject.

The artist has said, when talking about her work: “If you ask an artist what he/she was thinking of while creating his work, he would hardly give a reasonable answer to that question. This process cannot be analyzed. It is like a miracle.

You are just drawing, and that is all. Simply not thinking of anything definite. The moment you start thinking… and that’s it- unnecessary stroke, unnecessary detail. God knows how it all happens. Pleasure, passion, joy here are characteristics of this process.” From this quote, I can see how the artist creates her painting, just full of passion.

Anna Razumovskaya is a contemporary romanticism artist. Her art is a mixture of classic and modern. The portraits she does captures the beauty of the female body, with sophistication. The technique she uses are inspired by old masters like Rembrandt, whilst being modern.

She paints with freedom creating something unique and beautiful. Her diverse background from having been to many places like Germany, Holland and Belgium, exposed to different cultures, will have influenced her in many ways for her art.

one of the many things I like about her art, is that the figures in her paintings have this beautiful aura that reminds me of Renaissance art. Drawing similar colour palettes from the Renaissance paintings. Additionally, the artist uses the figures for their poses, whilst her muses are the joys of life. So then you get an impressionistic painting. A story and emotion to relay.

Her subjects in her paintings are painted with confidence, but with a sense of femininity and softness. She creates that by using colour and line. For her backgrounds she creates movement, along with the character, having the dress flowing. She also brings about a stillness in her images by using quite tones and bright colours by interlacing them.

This creates a contrast, of a peaceful state of the subject and the noise in the background from the movement of it. In all her paintings there is an ethereal like quality, of the subjects being there in the room and lost in the moment at the same time.

What is also is evident in her work is Razumovskaya’s love for music, specifically composers Bach and Tchaikovsky, place an influence in her work. This can be seen when she has instruments (Saxophone, and a violin), in her paintings. She somehow freezes the music in place, as if capturing a moment of dance. Each of her paintings all have a playfulness to them, with a unique style present in all of them.

36 by 24 inches.

A beautiful painting, showing how the musician are losing themselves into the music, as they are in their own little world. with vibrant and harmonising colours. with this impressionistic painting you can feel their love of music, from their body language and facial expressions all concentrated to the sounds and rhythms of music.
